"If you want to be out of the hustle and bustle of downtown (10 minutes to the CBD) and enjoy a lovely territorial view, this is the place to stay when visiting New Plymouth. We stayed here for two nights and enjoyed our spacious room and quiet surroundings ... you might hear a cow occasionally 'mooing' but that's part of the country side ambiance of One Burgess Hill."

"We arrived just before sunset and we were greeted by a beautiful sunset. Our cabin was on absolute beach frontage so the view was unobstructed. We poured ourselves a glass of wine and sat on the deck having a relaxing evening. The kitchen area had all the necessary items to prepare a meal but all cooking had to be done in the common kitchen, just behind us. We loved it so much we stayed an extra night and the receptionist offered us a favourable discount for the second night."

"Great central location in the centre of the city. Room was clean but just a few little things that would make all the difference - kids handprints in the mirror, fittings on the spa bath a bit old/discolored, toilet seat hand-modified to fit. Not majors but just makes it feel a little bit less than an excellent experience for the price paid. Staff were lovely and room was very adequate for our weekend stay. Probably best avoided if you can't handle inner city noise, cars, Saturday night people sounds etc but we found it fine for our needs. Great eating options very close by, bottle shop and chemist over the road. No bathrobes provided, apparently they don't have any... despite many of the website listings saying they do."
