"This property rates itself as a four-star but fails in a number of ways, FIRST, we there in late October shoulder season…. Which means the HVAC system was completely off. Which means absolutely no ventilation in the room. What? The front desk offered to bring us a fan. What?
Secondly, calling the front desk. There is a phone in the room. But there are no instructions on how to call the front desk. Lifting the receiver did nothing. Dialing zero did nothing. The preprogrammed buttons did...

"We were warmly received by Donatella and her daughter, Francesca. Donatella was very gracious and created marvelous treats for breakfast. Her homemade apple strudel was the best I’ve ever had. Francesca was amazing and helped us coordinate ferry schedules, dinner reservations, and activities. The setting is gorgeous and idyllic. Truly a unique and fabulous stay."

Room was quite small though, not much room to walk with two open suitcases. Breakfast was your standard European breakfast in the attached restaurant downstairs. Location was perfect, just a quick walk to shopping...
