Serenade All Suites - Adults Only Resort
8/10 Good
"Clean room, friendly staff, good food/service"

The Reef at Atlantis
2/10 Terrible
"Completely fails to deliver for the price and set expectations.
- Staff all look miserable, like you are actively making their day worse just by your presence at the resort.
- Long lines for water park rides, competing with six cruise ships a day and no perks like priority lines for being a guest
- "Included" water park does not include $25/day locker so you are walking cold and wet half a mile to and from the hotel
- Tons of smoking in public areas, including the beach
- Very few beach chairs, many broken, all empty and blocked by towels staff refuse to remove
- Desalinated tap water tastes awful, no free bottled water or water filters, water is $3-4/can, soda is $5/can.
- Showers rapidly run out of hot water
- Mattress okay, pillows are bad with no pillow menu, no blankets (ask for many if you call, they are super thin), no bathrobes. Room service is inconsistent, only got coffee refills once.
- Food is obscenely priced even by resort standards, portions are small even at the Mexican restaurant, many mistakes in orders and charges. $60 for 18-inch pizza with four drinks is the best food we had all stay (Margaritaville is pretty good too). Ice cream is $7+ a scoop. Cheapest alcohol is $12. Everything comes with a 10% VAT and 15% gratuity so add 25% to whatever you are expecting. Breakfast buffet line is out the door and down the hall."

Serenade Punta Cana Beach & Spa Resort - All Inclusive
8/10 Good
"This was my second stay at Serenade but my first time with my partner. We had a swim up room, which was nice. The staff was nice. I was glad to see during this trip that they now offer wash cloths. My last visit there were only hand towels to wash with, which were entirely too big. The fridge was fully stocked with complimentary drinks. The bed was comfortable. The floors were a little dirty the first day but good the remaining days. The water pressure and temp of shower was perfection. The housekeeping was great. A few complaints were mainly with being able to make a reservation with the restaurants, which was near impossible. We were able to get a very late dinner at 9pm only because we attended a time share type of event. My partner hated the food at the sports bar. He said that the food offered there makes the resort less appealing, which I'd have to agree. The pizza is probably the most edible if you're looking for a late night snack as they stay open later than all of the other restaurants. Please get a better food selection there. We ate at the hibachi resturant for my partners birthday and that was very good. The buffet is decent. The property is very nice and well maintained. One suggestion is that there is better entertainment for adults looking to get into something after hours. The music at the club was lack luster and the pools close at 7pm. Other than that our stay overall was good. We had a short stay (3 nights) and did exursions two of those days. "

"Pay attention to spring break season and avoid if you’d rather not have young college “adults” all over the place drunk and throwing up in common areas. To the credit of the staff, they quickly cleaned up the vomit and kept the place in good shape, but just pointing out we had to step over or dodge vomit at least three times four times on our five day stay…one time it was in the elevator we had just walked in. Gross spring breakers!
The pool with the swim up bar was too cold for most to endure. The nightly entertainment was okay day 1 but too familiar third day in.
No exhaust fan/vent in showers meant hight humidity build up in bathrooms and room that took forever to clear off just running AC. Rendered mirrors in the bathroom unusable for 30 minutes to an hour.
No hammocks on property, no game rooms or games like cornhole just left out around for convenient usage. When it’s gusty and cannot get into ocean, having other game activities like cornhole would be good alternative.
Local vendors on the beach are at times obnoxious and overbearing with their solicitation…I get this is allowed but perhaps it needs to be tamed or corralled better so I don’t have a guy yo’ing at me several times while I am engaged in a private conversation with my bride, just to tell me about his fruity alcoholic drink for sale after I already told his business partner no thanks repeatedly.
That said, can’t overstate how accommodating the staff was, taxi services, and the plethora of food, the "

Excellence Punta Cana - Adults Only All Inclusive
10/10 Excellent
"This resort might have the best staff ever . Definitely the best we've been around and we've been to many resorts over the years. They make you feel like your friends instead of a customer. Maria and Bernadino were standouts and went above and beyond to make us feel at home during our whole stay. The resort itself was stunning, your steps from the beach and a very short walk to anywhere on the property. The Harvest Table ( buffet ) was very good for breakfast and very impressive for lunch with something for even the pickiest of eaters. All the a la cart restaurants were very good and gave you a wide range of options to choose from. Would have been nice to have a lobster dinner Loster House ) during our stay but they are out of season and forbidden to be caught from March till I believe the end of June. The entertainment was the usual you get at most resorts but did have a few shows that were a bit better. The only complaint we had ( and we knew this going in ) was the beach. The beach itself was immaculate with no shells or rocks or seaweed anywhere but the water is fairly rough all the time. Everyday was a red flag day due to the riptide. If you walk a few minutes to the right there's a sandbar that breaks things up a bit and makes for calmer water. Being an adult only resort was definitely a major plus and made what is usually a crazy time ( March Break ) very relaxing. I keep getting asked if we'd go back and I don't hesitate in saying absolutely !! "
