"Really friendly and helpful staff. Great location. I booked a small room and there was enough space. The room could do with a little sprucing up in places, but clean and comfortable. It was up three flights of stairs, so may be an issue for others. Some hotels in France have some kind of water fountain to reduce plastic, so that was missing. But otherwise a great place and I would stay again."

"This was our second stay at the Royal hotel, our first was just an overnight stay, and we liked Nimes so much we wanted longer and couldn't imagine a better hotel. This time it totally lived up to expectations. It is amazingly convenient for the centre of historic Nimes, opposite the Maison Carre! "On our visit to the south of France we decided to stop in Nîmes overnight to see the temples and Roman Coliseum. We chose Hotel de l’Ampitheatre for its proximity to the train station and the sights, and high ratings. We were not disappointed. The staff is friendly and helpful, the hotel is clean and charming, and the breakfast is fresh and delicious. It felt like a lovely little Inn. If we travel to Nîmes again, we will not hesitate to return to this hotel"

"We really enjoyed our stay. The location is superb, right in front of the Roman amphitheatre, just a short walk from the station. The room was very well equipped and comfortable, everything worked fine, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We noticed no noise from inside the hotel. There was some from the adjacent building site, but only during working hours and this was not a problem. If visiting Nimes again we would certainly be happy to stay here. "
