We stayed a few nights here. The room was very tastefully decorated and very comfortable and quiet especially considering its central location. The staff were very communicative and proactive prior to check in due to our late check in arrival. Excellent location with close and walkable proximity to central attractions.

Lovely property and nice clean room with enough space. Isn't directly in the sun so the room doesn't get too hot either even though there's air con. Lovely owner who was really friendly on reception. Great location as well! Would highly recommend

The hotel is in a good location within walking distance of central Catania. As per other reviews there was a strong sewerage smell from the bathroom but we were out all day so only noticed at night.

Great value

Great value and close to main tourist area. It is one metro station away from the centrale which is a good thing. The door is a bit thin so in the morning it may wake you up when there's a lot of movement in the hallway.

The place was within walking distance to most sights and close to metro and bus stops. I loved how quiet the room was compared to my other B&B stays in Italy and Sicily. I appreciated the breakfast order check off sheets, I actually was able to get a regular cup of coffee.

We went to Catania and just wanted a place that was central and close to everything. This is not a hotel. The level of security is very good. Breakfast has a good choice. Pierro was very helpful. Good value for a place to sleep and shower. Don't take a car into Catania

We were really grateful for the hospitality of everyone at Magione del Re, extremely welcoming and we were given a very thorough introduction to Catania by Piero when we arrived, with a map and some excellent suggestions of where to visit for the best pizza, granita and authentic Sicilian cuisine. The B&B has a genuine Italian character, but without the sometimes tired appearance that many older hotels have in Italy. Super high ceilings make the room feel spacious and everything is well maintained to a high standard. Breakfast being included was a nice touch and we felt very well looked after each morning always with the offer of more. The location is situated within a short walk of the main central street of Catania, and the surrounding area felt very safe and comfortable for the few days we were staying. There is also a small car park directly next to the hotel with a slight discount for guests at the B&B. This was perfect for us as we are visiting various cities in Sicily and having a rental car has been invaluable. That said, driving in Catania is borderline chaos, even for my wife who is born and raised in central Italy. Make sure you rent a small car if doing so! It can sometimes be a little noisy as some reviews suggest, either from breakfast being prepared in the hallway (the doors aren’t massively soundproofed) or from the shared communal courtyard which at times had some rather dramatic Italian shouting, however neither of these things detracted from our visit.

Very nice place!

Great place, very close to everything. The host came and met us as soon as we arrived, and we got the room right away, even when we came a lot earlier than normal check in. Bed was also super comfy!
