A rustic older cottage with good clean amenities. Good for a short stay to tour around in off season.

Cottage Stay
Fantastic little area with very a comfortable environment. The full kitchen with dishes was awesome. If/when we come back we will absolutely be booking again. Worth the price for the spot you get!

Overall ok…. The AC wasn’t working and it took about 5 min to have hot water. The refrigerator was making a loud sound that woke me up many times. No sofa or chairs to sit on except the chairs at the kitchen table.

You booked a bachelor cottage that is smaller, it shares a water heater with another bachelor cottage, and two bachelor buildings are 20 feet between would not be 5 minutes of hot water on. A/C was working well in July and August, these days the temperature is not really high, outside only 15-19 degrees, that why you were feeling the A/C not working well.

The owners were very nice and polite. As far as the accommodation it was clean however I found that the bed was not very comfortable. I felt that it was an old mattress. I didn't stay my last night do to the bed not being comfortable. Overall the place was nice.

Cottage looked nothing like the photos. Very old and updated. Window was broke in door going into cottage. Toilet was small and moved. Couldn't plug my hairdryer in bathroom. Sink in bathroom was snall and low. Seems like the entire cottage was made for people under 5ft tall. Odors when entering cottage. No nightstand. Parking was tight between 2 cottages. Only room for 1 vehicle. Signage to property not clear. Staff was friendly, bed was ok, fridge was noisy at night

This is a bachelor has a double bed only for a couple or one person. That's why only one parking at side of cottage.usually It's weekly rental, you booked one night between two reservations. Thanks for your comments.

Poorly maintained, some repairs were poorly finished, ie painting ect. wall and ceiling repairs, bad plumbing.

Super cute, cozy cottage, located close to all the things we wanted to do! It was just me and my mom, but we both agreed that it would be ideal for a small family. Small kitchen to cook if that was desired.

Would stay again.
The experience from start to finish was great. Hassle free check-in, room ready when we arrived, and a quiet “community”. The cottage needs a few upgrades - like the faucets the spray you down while brushing your teeth or washing dishes and the broken window pane on the door. Would stay again though.

Good location. Close to Cavendish beach and Green Gables . Has swimming pool and fire pits . Cottages a little rundown but mostly clean. We rented 2 cottages at the same price. One was in much worse condition then the other. Don’t understand why ??? Other then that nice and unique place to spend couple of days on PEI.

The location was great. Close to the shining waters and sandspit. Blanket was covered in semen(sorry but I need to say whatever I saw). I had booked for two adults and two kids but only there was a king bed and another one only suitable for one of my kid. Toiletries only for one person. Hot water not enough to take a shower! Hot tub water wasn’t clean but the pool was good overall.

we have two bedroom and three bedroom cottage is much better than one bedroom to stay four people

Nice place. Friendly staff. Perfect position in Cavendish. But the hot tub had some debris, the AC didn't work (unit operated but was not sufficient for the space and there is no laundry. Overall good stay, would stay again.

The hot tub is cleaned in the morning, some people like to bring something or drink at the hot tub

Our stay was very good. It could use more hooks in the bathroom for hanging clothes and towels. It was a very nice and cozy place to stay. I would stay there again.

Bachelor Cabin: Check-in was very smooth, as I only stayed for a night my initial look over the room was brief. Upon returning in the evening I had noted that there was presumably water damage to the ceiling in the majority of the small cottage that looked like there was an attempt at “fixing it. The bathroom I think was the most shabby of all, there was water mold along the ceiling and the toilet did not flush/drain right (slowly) and the shower was unusable as the water shot out from behind the plumbing tape used to put the shower head on (quite the morning surprise). Otherwise the place was clean, linens were clean and satisfactory as well as the staff and grounds were nice.

Avonlea Cottages are quiet, clean and well stocked. They have all the kitchen supplies you might need. The cottage was very clean and the A/C worked well. The pool was very well maintained and the owners/staff were very helpful. Right beside Shining Waters Park.

While we were doing bbq the gas finished. The gas was not full. There was no kitchen tissue. There was no cream/milk for coffee. There was no locks for rooms as well as washroom.

sorry for not providing the best experience to you. the office is a step away, you could let us know if you need a new tank, we are here to help, we are only replacing the gas tank which is lower than 50% during our cleaning. As a cottage, we don't provide cream, milk or kitchen paper towel. We can not put any lock on the inside door, this is by our local tourism policy.

Love the place close to the beach, found the place to be great for families there amusement parks near by. Only problem was the coffee maker it didn’t work and I had read about so wasn’t surprised but I managed there was a kettle so made drip coffee. Everything was confortable especially the king size bed

Property is old and falling apart. The cabin floor inside was on a large angle and it made it really hard to walk inside. Doors have to be forced closed because everything was out of line. No room in the bath room. Nothing had been cleaned or sanitized, when I wiped down the touch points my wipe was black with filthy dirt. In the morning went for a shower but couldn’t because the water was just a trickle. We were supposed to stay 2 nights but left after one because of the problems. The owner would not issue a refund for second night.

The property was really cute and functional. It has everything you needed. It could use some updates such as more outlets and plumbing. And some attention to cleaniness as there was mold in the shower that should be addressed. Other than than it had a great outdoor space and very close to everything in cavendish. I would stay there again

The cottage was very nice except it would have been nice if there were curtains in the bedrooms so you are not woke up at dawn with blazing sun. Also our bbq grill did not heat up so we were unable to use it. A good suggestion would be for them to supply wood for the fire pits. We did not know we had to supply our own so did not have a fire.

Myself and two artist friend stayed here for Kensington's Plein air event. The location was great, cottage was just perfect for us. We enjoyed morning sunrise coffee and evening moonrise wine on the porch. The firepits were a welcoming touch that encouraged mingling with the other vacationers. I definitely would stay again.

Bad start
The stay was pleasant except for the first night. Travelling by air from Alberta, we arrived late and had been promised an open cottage with light left on. This was not well communicated resulting in everything being dark and locked. I’m 74 yrs. and had to sleep with my granddaughter in the car. Nothing else in the area was open or awake. Not a good start to a week long vacation. Otherwise the owners are well organized and friendly and profusely apologized. For others to know - they live in the back of the office which we were’t aware of.
