"Appears to be 60+ year old facility with a convention center attached. Dated old "majestic" property that has seen a lot of traffic. The "exercise" facility consists of 3 treadmills and 2 elliptical trainers that appear to be 20+ years old and have operational issues. The in-room heat did not work, even after being reported. The requested wake-up call was not carried out. The vanity sink drain was plugged. Maid service was competent, accommodating, and friendly."

"The Meyers was not your average, run of the mill lodging. The rooms were spacious, with wooden flooring, a wood burning stove, and furniture that gave a feeling of antiquity. The grounds outside were beautiful, with rolling grassy areas as well as lots of seating for visiting or just enjoying nature. "

"I hesitated to write this view because I try to always focus on the positive--and I realize this will be damaging. However, the bottom line is, other travelers deserve consideration, too. As a huge fan of old architecture who'll take charm over perfection any day of the week, I wasn't expecting new construction-level detail and finishes. But there's an ENORMOUS difference between a well-loved antique and deferred maintenance, borderline filth, and utter disrepair. I think the photos speak for themselves so I'll just add some context/details. First, our room smelled awful. Like mold and a LOT of some sort of cleaning product or maybe air "freshener." It was nauseating. Second, the furniture and corners/trim/molding were dirty, there was actual trash under a table, and clear water damage and wood rot throughout. Third, while some reviewers said the beds were amazing, my daughter and I agreed that the beds and pillows were without a doubt some of the most uncomfortable we've ever slept on/with in our lives. I chose two stars because the location can't be beat, the grounds were charming, and the decor was at least attractive and quirky and not "standard hotel-issue Walmart junk." At one time, this was probably a lovely property--but to operate it in this state is irresponsible, in my opinion."
