"Travelled to Malta with my wife to visit my 93 year old aunt in a nursing home who was unwell. I deliberately selected the Diplomat for my two night stay because it is very close to the home and as i am being treated for cancer i am only able to walk a short distance. As we needed to go back and forth to the home the Diplomat location suited this and i booked it weeks in advance.
On arrival the manager told me the hotel was full as it had been over booked and we had been relocated to an alternative hotel in St Julian's Bay, some 1.4 miles away. Despite pleading with the manager he insisted there was nothing he could do.
I tried to find another local hotel but there was nothing available. The manager did offer a free taxi to take us to the alternative hotel and as we had no other option we had to take it. We had intended to see my aunt that afternoon but by the time we had checked in it was too late in the evening.
The following day we had to travel by taxi several times back and forth to the home and were unable to see my aunt on our final day, the day of departure due to the distance.
A wholly unacceptable situation and i would never recommend this hotel to anyone."
