Inside the Menezes Braganza Pereira House, Chandor village, Goa. The Pereira House, started in the 17th century, is one of the best preserved homes of the Indo-Portuguese aristocracy that owned plantations, controlled trade, and governed Goa during its long colonial rule by Portugal. India captured Goa in 1961 in a quick invasion after India grew impatient with their lengthy negotiations with Portugal over Goa's status.
