"Very warm welcome. Very clean and well equipped room. Very comfortable bed with nice clean bedding. Excellent breakfast with good choice of food.. My wife is vegetarian and this was catered for with a very helpful manner. We would happily use this hotel again."

"A lovely place but unfortunately let down by rude staff, bad room placement and broken air conditioning. There was a wedding taken place and the music went on into the night, between this and the broken air conditioning, our young baby was disturbed through the night. We contacted Gary the nightporter who was helpful and explained they knew it was an issue and to raise it with management the following day. We contacted management by email in the end as no one was available the following day. I...

"I’d like to say thank you to the very friendly and helpful staff who couldn’t do enough for us. Our room was upgraded with a view of the racecourse and the room was superb. The highlight was a delicious breakfast for £10 when paying in advance. I’ll certainly stay here again when there isn’t racing! "

"An enjoyable one night stay at a hotel where the positive features far outweigh any minor niggles. Attentive and pleasant staff, excellent food, well presented and served in a timely manner. Rooms just bordering on the need for some love and attention, although White Stuff toiletries do a good job in diverting attention from the nasty stain on one of the seats. Decent enough spa facilities, although it would be helpful if the price to swim were included in the booking price."

"I don’t usually post negative comments but feel on this occasion it’s require based on the room rate. Our room including bathroom was slightly tired and is in need of a refreshment and lacked your normal toiletries for this level of hotel. The mini fridge compressors was very loud and as such led to both nights of poor sleep, not ideal when you book a weekend away to recover. However, the main building was very beautiful and had a nice lounge to relax in the evening."

"Enjoyed the stay but it was noisy trying to get to sleep in the cottage room and I’m curious as to why there were only 9 loungers in the spa but there are 60 bedrooms ? I had to sit on a chair .. not really the spa experience I was looking for. Also another gripe of mine is no full length mirrors in bedrooms ? And no table near a mirror to sit and dry hair and do makeup ? It’s the little things that make all the difference."
