Pros: pool, beautiful back yard with fire pit, fair price, nice shower, deck off of (upper) room Neutral: desk staff seemed unenthusiastic, he got the job done though Cons: threadbare carpet, peeling wallpaper, our room had no toilet paper or hand towel, the quality of the reno work was poor (eg rails on deck didn't meet, large gaps between bathroom tiles and door frame. Since we were only there for a night's sleep while hiking the Bruce Trail, it did the trick and I'd stay again.

We were pleased with our stay. The check-in was smooth, and the gentleman was very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean, with a very nice step-in shower. The beds were clean and comfortable. While we did not use the amenities the pool on site was very inviting and clean. We would recommend Key Motel. It is basic but works very well. When we returned late in the evening the parking lot was very well lit and easy to enter off the Highway..

Rooms and bathrooms are clean well maintained. Staff is more then hospitable and accommodating. Extremely welcoming and happy to help with what they can. The only thing I would Improve are the beds. But for a weekend stay out near the Bruce Pennisula right perfect place for a family or couple to get away.

We stayed for 2 nights even though there were not high reviews and I'm glad we did. Firstly this is an older motel and a bit outdated but pretty obvious in the pictures and it was priced appropriately. Was this a luxury motel, no. But it was a clean comfortable room, with a strong AC and the mini fridge was nice and cold. There is a great pool in the back that was clean and warm with amazing views of the hilly surroundings. Close to some fun attractions in the area and I would definitely stay here again.

We traveled as three families and stayed at this property. We think it’s a good place if you’re just passing through and need somewhere to sleep. The beds are comfortable, and we had a good night’s rest. The property is nice and has a playground for children, a swimming pool, and BBQ facilities. However, the cleanliness of both the rooms and the outdoor areas could be improved. The bottom of the pool had visible dirt buildup, and the BBQ grills were dirty, so unfortunately we weren’t able to use them. Inside the rooms, the beds were clean, but the floors and walls could have been cleaned more thoroughly. The rooms include Wi-Fi, a refrigerator, and a TV, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Overall, it’s a good place to stay. With a little more investment in maintenance and cleanliness, it could be an excellent property given everything it has to offer.

Very disappointing experience. The hotel was not clean or well maintained. The rooms and common areas looked neglected, and the overall service was poor. Basic standards of cleanliness were not met. I would not recommend this hotel and would not stay here again.

After a long drive, I was looking forward to a rest, but that was impossible. The room was dirty, and the bed was extremely uncomfortable—the mattress felt like it belonged in the last century. While the bathroom looked recently renovated, it didn't make up for the overall poor quality, especially with a broken mirror in it. To make matters worse, the heater didn't work and just blew cold air, leaving me freezing all night. The "blanket" provided was barely thicker than a bedsheet. Even tried changing from room 7 to room 4, but it made no big difference —both were in poor condition. Honestly have no idea who writes the positive reviews for this place or what kind of rooms they supposedly "rested" in. Save your money and stay elsewhere.

The motel advertised cable TV however our room had no cable and no remote. A TV for decoration on a very old table. Our room window was filthy. The bathroom was in desperate need of repair and upgrades. A purple sink from the 1950’s and a toilet with a broken flush handle that was glued together. The toilet barely flushed and filled up to the top of the bowl several times. Our bathroom had a painted tub as a facelift. The tub had no grab bars for safety and the tub was slippery. Also we had no bath mat, no facecloths and no glasses. Even plastic glasses would have been nice. We requested some items and never did get a bath mat. Front desk staff were very nice though. You can tell that some upgrades have been made, painting etc. but it’s very dated. Unfortunately we never had time for the pool but it looked nice and clean. The rooms need a route to get to the pool instead of walking outside to the very end of the building, then around to the backyard to enter the pool. Perhaps bottom floor rooms could have a door to enter the backyard instead of just a dirty window. The bed served its purpose for our 2 nights but I wouldn’t go again.

This was easily the worst motel stay I’ve ever experienced. Door didn’t lock. From the moment we arrived, the property felt neglected. The front desk area smelled terrible, and after checking in, good luck finding a staff member if you actually need something. We went our entire stay without toilet paper being provided. The room was filthy. The bed sheets looked like they hadn’t been cleaned or replaced since 1970. The carpet was disgusting, covered in stains, dirt and crumbs. Then there was the BBQ graveyard. There were approximately six BBQs sitting out back, but not a single one had propane. We had spent money on food, expecting to be able to BBQ as advertised.. only to find out we couldn’t. That food ended up going to waste. If the BBQs aren’t actually usable, guests should be told BEFORE they arrive. The fire pits were another disappointment — no firewood. There were 3 vehicles sitting in the parking lot that initially appeared to belong to other guests. The next morning, we realized they had flat tires and appeared to have been sitting there for years. The whole property gave the impression that nobody was maintaining or managing it. We learned about the reported incident in 2023 where a deceased person was found in the pool and reportedly remained there for hours before being discovered. I’m not surprised considering the lack of staff presence. This wasn’t simply an outdated motel. The basic standards aren’t being met. DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE!

Bathroom taps were leaking, floor wet...stepped into it with socks on. Beds we're very hard. Temperature of room hard to regulate.

We have stayed in cheaper hotels that were much better than this; it was dirty everywhere, especially around the toilets, and one of our rooms had old carpeting and two TVs. The door did not lock but was fine to get some sleep.
