If you're poorly prepared, air travel can be overwhelming. But there's no need to panic. Follow these helpful hints and enjoy a comfortable start to your time in Acapulco. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be a cruisy experience if you pack the right things. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a spare change of clothes and something to read. Secondly, find room in your carry-on bag for your laptop, a charger, any daily medications and maybe a comfy neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to take your passport, travel docs and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by authorities. Pointed or sharp objects, like your beloved pocket knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, chemicals agents and strong acids, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your main priority is to feel as comfortable as possible. Opt for slip-on footwear, dress in loose, breathable clothing and remember to bring a sweater in case you get chilly in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clots forming due to poor circulation, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks or tights.
