If you're poorly prepared, air travel can be challenging. But there's no need to panic. Follow these tips and tricks and enjoy a comfortable start to your time in Al Ain. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The trick to having a great travel experience is to be prepared. Start with the essentials: passport, boarding pass, cash and vital medications. Next, take on board items that'll help pass the time, like some electronic devices or a thrilling book. It's also wise to bring your chargers, a quality neck pillow and a pair of headphones. And of course, be sure to squeeze in toiletries like a toothbrush, cleansing wipes and a clean T-shirt.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Sharp objects, like your pocket knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and strong acids, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim here is to feel as comfortable as possible. Choose flat, closed-toe shoes, dress in loose, natural fibers and remember to bring a sweater in case it gets chilly in the cabin.
- Most travellers are aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by long periods of inactivity. To lessen your risk on board, drink plenty of water, consider wearing compression socks or tights and move your lower limbs often.
