We've pulled together all the info you need to make your journey an enjoyable experience. Follow our tips and you'll be breezing through the airport and discovering Arnos Vale in next to no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It's simple — first, put in your passport, travel docs, bank cards and vital medications. Next, you'll want some entertainment to help pass the time. A juicy book and a laptop filled with your favourite shows are good options. If you plan to take a quick nap, a neck pillow and some noise-cancelling headphones will also be useful. Finally, find room for a toothbrush and some facial wipes to ensure you step off the plane feeling fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Sharp objects, like your beloved Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as spray paint, flares and strong acids, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- The narrow aisles of an aircraft are not the place for a fashion parade. Don comfortable layers and don't forget to bring a sweater as it can get chilly inside the cabin during longer flights. Flat, enclosed shoes are always a good choice too.
- A condition known as DVT (deep vein thrombosis) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clotting due to inactivity and poor circulation. Walking around the cabin and doing regular foot and leg exercises while seated is a great way to prevent this developing. Wearing a good pair of compression tights or socks is also recommended.
