Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a seamless experience if you prepare well enough. We've compiled a list of handy travel tips that will get your Blue Bay holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a pleasure if you've got all the right gear. Firstly, you'll want some toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare pair of socks and a good book. Next, leave space in your carry-on bag for your phone, tablet and chargers, any medications and perhaps a cosy neck pillow too. Lastly, don't forget to take your passport, travel documents and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don't have sharp objects (like a knife or scissors) hiding in your carry-on luggage. Other banned items include explosive or flammable products, such as aerosol cans and bleach, and gels and liquids in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- Choose comfort over style. Prepare for changes in temperature by donning layers, and wear slightly roomy, flat footwear like sneakers.
- Most travellers have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. To minimize your risk on board, drink plenty of water, consider wearing compression socks or tights and move your legs and feet often.
