No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you've prepared well. We've compiled a list of handy tips and tricks that will get your Bo escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a pleasure if you bring the right stuff. First things first, you'll need basic toiletries, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a fresh set of clothes and a good book. Next, make room in your bag for your electronic devices, chargers, any vital medications and maybe a neck pillow too. Lastly, remember to take your passport, travel docs and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Make sure you don't have a Swiss Army knife hiding in one of the zippers of your carry-on luggage. Other prohibited items include explosive or flammable products, such as aerosol cans and fuel, and gels and liquids in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- You'll want to choose comfort over style. Prepare for changes in temperature by dressing in layers, and pick closed-toe, flat footwear like slip-ons.
- Most of us have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by long periods of sitting. To lower your risk on board, drink plenty of water, consider wearing compression tights or socks and move your legs and feet often.
