We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight a stress-free experience. Follow our top tips and you'll be cruising through the airport and discovering Bolnisi in no time flat. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a pleasure if you bring the right things. First things first, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a fresh set of clothes and a good novel. Secondly, find a spot in your hand luggage for your phone and charger, your important medications and perhaps a blow-up neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to bring your passport, travel docs and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by security. Sharp or pointed objects, like your precious pocket knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosols and fuels, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Choose comfort over style. Prepare for temperature changes by layering up, and wear flat, closed-toe shoes like slip-ons.
- Most of us have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by long periods of inactivity. To lessen your risk on board, stay hydrated, consider wearing compression tights or socks and move your lower limbs often.
