No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a seamless experience if you're prepared. We've made a list of handy tips and tricks that will help get your Bran holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First of all, pack your passport, travel documents, wallet and vital medications. Next, you'll need some in-flight entertainment to while away the time. A juicy book and a tablet crammed with your favourite movies are some wonderful options. If you intend to catch a few z's, a quality neck pillow and a pair of earplugs will also be useful. Finally, make room for a toothbrush and some facial wipes so you'll touchdown feeling fresh as a daisy.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of restricted items can differ between air carriers, the general rule to follow is nothing sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes screwdrivers, pocket knives, spray paint and flares. Sporting equipment like golf clubs, and items that could injure passengers, such as swords and guns, can't come on board with you either.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim is to feel as comfortable as possible. Opt for a pair of slip-on shoes, dress in loose, breathable clothing and don't forget to bring a jacket in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- You're probably aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. To reduce your risk on board, drink plenty of water, consider wearing compression socks and keep your feet and legs moving.
