Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a seamless experience if you're prepared. Check out these handy hints that will get your Breb holiday started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be easy if you pack the right gear. First things first, you'll need toiletry items, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a fresh set of clothes and a good book. Secondly, make room in your hand luggage for your mobile phone, a charger, any daily medications and perhaps a cosy neck pillow too. Lastly, be sure to bring your passport, travel documents and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of prohibited items differs between airlines, the general guide to follow is avoid carrying anything flammable, sharp or explosive. This includes things like knives, scissors, fuels and bleaching agents. Sports equipment like hockey sticks, and objects that could injure passengers, such as guns and swords, can't come on board with you either.
What to wear on a flight:
- The narrow aisles of your aircraft are no place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfortable clothing and bring a cardigan as the temperature can drop inside the cabin during long-haul flights. Enclosed, flat shoes are also a good choice.
- It's likely you've heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by long periods of inactivity. There's lots you can do to lower your risk. Wear compression tights or socks, stay hydrated and move your legs and feet. Walk the aisles of the cabin or try out some exercises in your seat.
