Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you prepare well enough. We've compiled a list of handy hints that will get your Coimbra escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First things first, pack your passport, travel docs, wallet and medications. Next, you'll need some in-flight entertainment to help pass the time. A juicy novel and a tablet crammed with your favourite movies are some fantastic options. If you hope to take a short nap, a comfy neck pillow and some noise-cancelling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, squeeze in a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes so you'll arrive looking fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of restricted items differs between air carriers, the general rule of thumb is nothing sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes things like box cutters, razor blades, fuels and bleaching agents. Sporting equipment like ice skates, and items that could harm passengers, such as swords and guns, aren't allowed in the cabin either.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your number one priority when choosing what to wear during your flight. Loose clothing is a wise option, as are flat, closed-toe shoes.
- Caused by sustained periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clotting condition that can affect passengers on long-distance flights. Lower your risks by drinking water, keeping your ankles and legs moving and wearing compression tights or socks.
