We've pulled together all the info you need to make your journey as stress-free as possible. Follow our tips and you'll be hightailing it through airport security and having a ball in Covenas in next to no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a stress-free experience if you bring the right stuff. Firstly, you'll want some toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a spare set of clothes and a few magazines. Secondly, make room in your bag for your electronic devices, chargers, any daily medications and perhaps a neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to bring your passport, travel docs and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Pointed or sharp objects, like your beloved Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, chemicals agents and poisons, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- The long, narrow aisles of an aircraft are no place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfortable clothing and pack a cardigan as it can get quite cool inside the cabin. Flat, slightly roomy shoes are also a wise idea.
- A serious condition called deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to poor circulation. Walking up and down the aisle and doing leg and foot exercises in your seat is a great way to prevent this happening. Wearing a pair of compression socks or tights can also help.
