Depending on where you're coming from, your journey to Cuxhaven could be no sweat at all or it could go on forever. We've compiled some tips that will help you start your unforgettable escape on a positive note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be a comfortable experience if you pack the right gear. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a spare set of clothes and a good novel. Secondly, make room in your bag for your electronic devices, chargers, any daily medications and maybe a comfy neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to bring your passport, travel papers and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp or pointed objects, like your treasured Swiss Army knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, bleaching agents and fireworks, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- The long, narrow aisles of your plane are no fashion runway. Layer up with comfortable clothing and take a sweater as the temperature can drop inside the cabin during long-haul flights. Enclosed, flat shoes are also recommended.
- Unfortunately, a risk of flying long-haul is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity. To prevent this, take every opportunity to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs. Compression socks and tights are also a great idea to help minimize this risk.
