If you're poorly prepared, travelling can be challenging. But there's no need to panic. Follow these handy tips and enjoy a pleasant start to your holiday in Djerba Midun. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a comfortable experience if you pack the right gear. First of all you'll need toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a fresh set of clothes and a magazine or two. Secondly, find room in your bag for your phone, tablet and chargers, medications and maybe a cosy neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to bring your passport, travel papers and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Sharp or pointed objects, like your beloved Swiss Army knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and matches, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- You'll want to go for comfort over style. Prepare for temperature changes in the cabin by dressing in layers, and wear flat, closed-toe footwear like sneakers.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by extended periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs or do some gentle exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
