We’ve got the lowdown on how to make your journey as pain-free as possible. Follow our tips and you’ll be hightailing it through airport security and having a ball in Dungarvan in no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a stress-free experience if you pack the right stuff. Firstly, you’ll want a few toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a fresh change of clothes and a good novel. Next, find a spot in your bag for your electronic gadgets, chargers, your important medications and maybe a quality neck pillow too. Lastly, don’t forget to bring your passport, travel docs and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Pointed or sharp objects, like your pocket knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, chemicals agents and fuels, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- The narrow aisles of an airplane are no fashion runway. Layer up with comfortable clothing and remember to take a cardigan as it tends to get cool inside the cabin during longer flights. Slightly roomy, flat shoes are also recommended.
- Unfortunately, a risk of long-haul flights is developing deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity. To avoid this, make the most of every opportunity to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs. Compression tights and socks are another easy way to help minimize this risk.
