Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you're well prepared. Take a peek at these handy tips that will help get your Emeishan holiday started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a pleasure if you carry the right things. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletries, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a spare set of clothes and a magazine or two. Secondly, find room in your hand luggage for your mobile phone, a charger, your important medications and perhaps a neck pillow too. Lastly, remember to bring your passport, travel documents and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as spray paint, flares and fireworks, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an aircraft aren't the place for a fashion parade. Dress in comfortable layers and opt for shoes that are flat, roomy and easy to remove.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clots forming due to poor circulation and inactivity, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks.
