If you're not prepared, travelling can be a real challenge. But there's no need to panic. Follow these helpful hints for a stress-free start to your time in Fukuoka. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It's easy — first, put in your passport, official ID, bank cards and vital medications. Next, you'll want some entertainment to while away the time. A juicy novel and a phone filled with your favourite movies are always good options. If you intend to catch up on some sleep, a quality neck pillow and some earplugs will also come in handy. Finally, leave space for a toothbrush and some facial wipes to ensure you step off the plane feeling fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like your Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and gasoline, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Choose comfort over style. Prepare for changes in cabin temperature by dressing in layers, and wear closed-toe, flat footwear like sneakers.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Walk around the cabin and give your legs a stretch or do some gentle exercises in your seat to promote better circulation.
