Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you're well prepared. We've compiled a list of essential travel tips that will help get your Gerlach escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a comfortable experience if you've got all the right things. Firstly, you'll want some basic toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a fresh change of clothes and a magazine or two. Next, find room in your bag for your phone, tablet and chargers, any vital medications and perhaps a quality neck pillow as well. Lastly, remember to bring your passport, travel docs and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Make sure you don't have sharp objects (like a knife or scissors) lurking in the bottom of your carry-on luggage. Other restricted items include explosive or flammable substances, such as aerosol cans and fuel, and gels and liquids in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- You'll want to choose comfort over style. Prepare for changes in temperature by wearing layers, and opt for slightly roomy, flat footwear like slip-ons.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Make a point of walking around the cabin or do some gentle exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
