- A plane trip can be a great experience if you pack the right things. First things first, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a clean pair of socks and a good read. Secondly, leave space in your hand luggage for your electronic gadgets, chargers, medications and perhaps a cosy neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to take your passport, travel documents and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Make sure you don't have sharp or pointed objects hiding in one of the compartments of your carry-on luggage. Other banned items include explosive or flammable products, such as aerosol cans and bleach, and liquids and gels in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- Choose comfort over style. Prepare for temperature changes in the cabin by dressing in layers, and pick flat, easy-to-remove shoes like slip-ons.
- You're probably aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity. To lessen your risk on board, drink lots of water, consider wearing compression socks or tights and move your lower limbs often.
