No matter where you’re coming from, flying can be a seamless experience if you’ve prepared well. Take a peek at these handy hints that will get your Hakone escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a great experience if you pack the right things. First of all you’ll need basic toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a clean pair of socks and a few magazines. Next, find a spot in your carry-on bag for your laptop, a charger, any medications and maybe a neck pillow too. Lastly, be sure to take your passport, travel docs and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Pointed or sharp objects, like your Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as spray paint, flares and fuels, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should always be your highest priority when choosing what to wear on board. Consider your footwear choice carefully too, as swollen ankles and feet are a common occurrence. Shoes which are flat and slightly roomy are always a good idea.
- Unfortunately, one risk of flying long distances is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clotting condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity. To prevent this, make the most of every opportunity to wander around the cabin. Compression tights and socks are also a great idea to help lower your risk.
