We've pulled together all the info you need to make your flight as stress-free as possible. Follow our insider tips and you'll be zooming through airport security and seeing the best of Havre in no time at all. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a great experience if you bring the right things. Firstly, you'll want some toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a clean pair of socks and a good novel. Secondly, make room in your bag for your electronic gadgets, chargers, any daily medications and perhaps a cosy neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, remember to bring your passport, travel papers and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don't have a sharp object hiding in the bottom of your carry-on luggage. Other prohibited items include explosive or flammable goods, such as aerosol cans and bleach, and gels and liquids in containers with a capacity of more than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim here is to feel as comfortable as you can. Layer yourself up in natural-fibre clothing and pack a cardigan in case it gets cold in the cabin. Always go with flat, well-fitting shoes as it's possible that your feet and ankles will swell a little during the flight. Leave the high heels and heavy hiking boots in your checked luggage.
- The serious condition known as DVT (deep vein thrombosis) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clotting due to poor circulation. Walking up and down the aisle and doing leg and foot exercises while seated is a great way to prevent this from occurring. Wearing a high-quality pair of compression tights or socks also helps reduce your risk.
