We've got the lowdown on how to make your journey a stress-free experience. Follow our tips and you'll be zooming through the airport and exploring Hiva Oa in no time flat. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First of all, put in your passport, important documents, bank cards and vital medications. Next, you'll want some in-flight entertainment to help pass the time. A thrilling book and a tablet crammed with your favourite movies are some terrific options. If you hope to take a short nap, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of noise-cancelling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, make room for a toothbrush and some deodorant to ensure you step off the plane feeling fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Sharp objects, like your precious pocket knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as spray paint, flares and matches, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your priority is to be as comfortable as possible. Go for easy-to-remove footwear, dress in loose, natural-fibre clothing and don't forget to take a sweater in case you get chilly in the cabin.
- Caused by prolonged periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clotting condition that can affect some passengers during long flights. Reduce the risks by staying hydrated, keeping your legs and ankles moving and wearing compression socks or tights.
