No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you're well prepared. We've made a list of handy hints that will help get your Jimbaran escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a stress-free experience if you carry the right gear. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as lip balm and hand cream, a spare pair of socks and a good book. Secondly, find room in your hand luggage for your laptop, a charger, your important medications and maybe a neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to take your passport, travel documents and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don't have a sharp object hiding in your carry-on luggage. Other prohibited items include flammable or explosive products, such as aerosol cans and bleach, and liquids and gels in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim here is to be as comfortable as possible. Pick a pair of slip-on shoes, dress in loose, natural-fibre clothing and remember to take a jacket in case you get cold in the cabin.
- Most of us have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by long periods of sitting. To minimize your risk on board, drink lots of water, consider wearing compression tights or socks and keep your legs and feet moving.
