Depending on where you're coming from, your trip to Kaka Point could be as easy as pie or it could drag on forever. We've compiled some useful tips that will help you start your next great escape on a positive note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a comfortable experience if you've got all the right stuff. First of all you'll need basic toiletries, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a clean set of clothes and a good novel. Secondly, make room in your carry-on bag for your electronic devices, chargers, your important medications and maybe a blow-up neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to bring your passport, travel docs and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp or pointed objects, like your trusty pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, bleaching agents and fireworks, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your highest priority when deciding what to wear on board. Loose, breathable clothing is a sensible option, as are flat, slip-on shoes.
- You've probably heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. To lessen your risk on board, drink plenty of water, consider wearing compression socks or tights and keep your legs and feet moving.
