Depending on where you're coming from, your trip to La-ngu could be completely painless or it could drag on forever. We've put together some handy hints that will help you start your next great adventure on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a great experience if you carry the right stuff. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a spare set of clothes and a good read. Secondly, find room in your hand luggage for your phone and charger, any medications and perhaps a neck pillow as well. Lastly, don't forget to take your passport, travel docs and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of banned items differs between airlines, the general guide to follow is avoid carrying anything sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes knives, scissors, spray paint and fireworks. Sports equipment like baseball bats, and items that could harm passengers, such as firearms and ammunition, can't come on board with you either.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane are not the best place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfy clothing and remember to take a sweater as it tends to get cool inside the cabin on long-haul flights. Flat, enclosed shoes are always a good idea too.
- A condition known as DVT (deep vein thrombosis) is a potential risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to inactivity and poor circulation. Doing leg and foot exercises in your seat is a great way to prevent this from occurring. Wearing a quality pair of compression socks or tights may also help.
