If you're poorly prepared, air travel can be testing. But don't hit the panic button just yet. Follow these tips and tricks and enjoy a pleasant start to your holiday in Labu. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The trick to having an awesome travel experience is to pack in advance. First up, the essentials: passport, boarding pass, credit cards and daily medications. Next, bring items that'll help keep you entertained, like your laptop or a juicy novel. It's also smart to pack your chargers, a neck pillow and a pair of earplugs. And of course, be sure to toss in toiletries like a toothbrush, lip balm and a clean set of clothes.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by security. Sharp or pointed objects, like a Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, bleaching agents and fireworks, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- You'll want to go for comfort over style. Prepare for temperature changes in the cabin by dressing in layers, and wear flat, slightly roomy shoes like sneakers.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a potential risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clots forming due to poor circulation and inactivity, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks.
