Depending on where you're coming from, your journey to Lesvos could be simple and straightforward or it could go on forever. We've compiled some useful travel tips that will help you start your next big adventure on a positive note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be easy if you carry the right stuff. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a spare change of clothes and something to read. Next, find room in your carry-on bag for your electronic devices, chargers, any medications and maybe a cosy neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to bring your passport, travel papers and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Sharp objects, like a pocket knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as spray paint, flares and strong acids, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Choose comfort over style. Prepare for changes in cabin temperature by wearing layers, and pick flat, enclosed shoes like slip-ons.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by extended periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Make a point of walking around the cabin or do some simple exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
