Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you prepare well enough. We've compiled a list of handy tips and tricks that will help get your Lindau escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Firstly, and most importantly, pack in your passport, official ID, credit cards and medications. Next, you'll need some extra in-flight entertainment to help pass the time. A thrilling book and a tablet crammed with your favourite movies are good options. If you hope to take a quick snooze, a quality neck pillow and some earplugs will also come in handy. Finally, leave some space for a toothbrush and some deodorant so you'll step off the plane looking and feeling fresh.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Make sure you don't have a sharp object hiding in the bottom of your hand luggage. Other restricted items include flammable or explosive substances, such as aerosol cans and fuel, and gels and liquids in containers with a volume of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an aircraft aren't the place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfortable clothing and choose shoes that are flat, roomy and easy to slip on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks or tights.
