We've got the lowdown on how to make your journey a stress-free experience. Follow our top tips and you'll be cruising through the airport and having a ball in Los Cristianos in no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a cruisy experience if you pack the right stuff. Firstly, you'll want a few toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a fresh set of clothes and something to read. Next, find a spot in your carry-on bag for your electronic gadgets, chargers, your medications and maybe a cosy neck pillow as well. Lastly, don't forget to bring your passport, travel documents and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don't have a pocket knife lurking in your hand luggage. Other restricted items include flammable or explosive products, like aerosols and matches, and liquids and gels in containers larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- Your priority is to feel as comfortable as possible. Pick shoes that are easy to pull on and off, dress in loose, breathable clothing and don't forget to take a sweater in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs or do some simple exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
