We've rounded up all the info you need to make your journey as pain-free as possible. Follow our tips and tricks and you'll be cruising through airport security and having a ball in Mabul Island in next to no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It's simple — first, pack your passport, travel documents, bank cards and vital medications. Next, you'll need some entertainment to help pass the time. A thrilling book and a laptop filled with your favourite shows are some fantastic options. If you plan to catch a few z's, a comfy neck pillow and some noise-cancelling headphones will also be useful. Finally, leave some space for a few toiletry items so you'll arrive at your destination feeling fresh as a daisy.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Sharp or pointed objects, like your treasured Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, bleaching agents and poisons, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your priority is to be as comfortable as you can. Opt for a pair of slip-on shoes, dress in loose, natural-fibre clothing and remember to bring a pullover in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Wander around the cabin and stretch your legs or do some gentle exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
