We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight a pleasant experience. Follow our tips and tricks and you'll be cruising through airport security and having a ball in Malolo Island in no time flat. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be easy if you've got all the right things. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletries, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a spare pair of socks and a few magazines. Next, make room in your hand luggage for your phone, tablet and chargers, any vital medications and maybe a cosy neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to take your passport, travel documents and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of prohibited items differs between air carriers, the general guide to follow is nothing flammable, sharp or explosive. This includes screwdrivers, pocket knives, aerosol cans and flares. Sports equipment like hockey sticks, and objects that could harm other people, such as swords and batons, are also banned from the cabin.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an aircraft are no place for a fashion parade. Layer your clothing and pick shoes that are flat, roomy and easy to pull on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression tights or socks.
