No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you've prepared well enough. We've compiled a list of handy hints that will get your Manns Choice holiday started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a pleasure if you bring the right stuff. Firstly, you'll want some basic toiletries, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare pair of socks and a good book. Next, leave space in your bag for your phone, tablet and chargers, your medications and maybe a blow-up neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to take your passport, travel docs and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Sharp or pointed objects, like your treasured Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, chemicals agents and strong acids, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of your airplane are no fashion runway. Layer up with comfortable clothing and bring a cardigan as it tends to get cool in the cabin. Slightly roomy, flat shoes are always a good choice too.
- You've probably heard about DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. There are numerous ways to mitigate your risk. Wear a pair of compression socks, stay well hydrated and move your legs and feet. Do a lap or two of the cabin or try out some exercises in your seat.
