Depending on where you're coming from, your journey to Matelot could be no sweat at all or it could go on forever. We've compiled some useful travel tips that will help you start your unforgettable escape on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It's simple — first, pack your passport, travel documents, bank cards and vital medications. Next, you'll want some extra in-flight entertainment to help pass the time. A juicy book and a phone crammed with your favourite movies are some terrific options. If you intend to take a quick nap, a comfy neck pillow and some earplugs will also come in handy. Finally, leave some space for a toothbrush and some facial wipes so you'll step off the plane feeling fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like your treasured Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, bleaching agents and strong acids, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an aircraft aren't the place for a fashion parade. Layer your clothing and go for shoes that are flat, enclosed and easy to slip on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks or tights.
