Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you prepare well enough. We've put together a list of handy hints that will help get your Medan holiday started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be easy if you pack the right things. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a spare pair of socks and a good novel. Secondly, leave space in your bag for your phone, tablet and chargers, your important medications and perhaps a quality neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to take your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of banned items differs between air carriers, the general rule to follow is avoid carrying anything flammable, sharp or explosive. This includes things like screwdrivers, pocket knives, fuel and fireworks. Sports equipment like ice skates, and objects that could injure passengers, such as firearms and swords, can't come on board with you either.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of a plane are no place for a fashion parade. Dress in comfortable layers and go for shoes that are enclosed, flat and easy to pull on and off.
- Caused by prolonged periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clotting condition that can affect some passengers on long-haul flights. Lower your risks by staying hydrated, keeping your feet and legs moving and wearing compression socks or tights.
