We've rounded up all the info you need to make your flight as stress-free as possible. Follow our tips and tricks and you'll be cruising through airport security and exploring Melk in no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It's easy --- first, put in your passport, travel docs, wallet and vital medications. Next, you'll need some entertainment to while away the time. A thrilling book and a phone filled with your favourite movies are always good options. If you hope to catch forty winks, a quality neck pillow and some earplugs will also come in handy. Finally, make room for a toothbrush and some facial wipes so you'll touchdown feeling fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don't have a Swiss Army knife lurking in one of the zippers of your hand luggage. Other restricted items include flammable or explosive products, such as fuel and matches, and gels and liquids in containers larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The long, narrow aisles of your airplane are not the best place for a fashion parade. Don comfortable layers and remember to bring a sweater as it can get quite cool inside the cabin during longer flights. Slightly roomy, flat shoes are also recommended.
- The serious condition called deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to inactivity and poor circulation. Walking up and down the aisle and doing foot and leg exercises while seated is a great way to prevent this developing. Wearing a pair of compression socks also helps reduce your risk.
