Depending on where you're coming from, your journey to Metz could be as easy as pie or it could go on forever. We've rounded up some handy hints that will help you start your next unforgettable escape on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a comfortable experience if you pack the right stuff. First of all you'll need toiletry items, such as lip balm and hand cream, a fresh change of clothes and a good novel. Secondly, find room in your bag for your phone and charger, your important medications and perhaps a neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to take your passport, travel documents and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Sharp or pointed objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, flares and matches, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- The goal here is to feel as comfortable as possible. Layer up with loose, breathable clothing and take a pullover in case it gets chilly in the cabin. Opt for a pair of well-fitting, flat shoes as it's possible that your feet and ankles will swell a little during the journey. Leave the stilettos and heavy hiking boots in your main luggage.
- The condition known as DVT (deep vein thrombosis) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to inactivity and poor circulation. Doing regular leg and foot exercises while seated helps to prevent this from occurring. Wearing a pair of compression socks or tights is also a wise idea.
