If you're not prepared, air travel can be testing. But there's no need to hit the panic button just yet. Follow these handy hints and enjoy a comfortable start to your holiday in Middlebranch. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a cruisy experience if you take the right things. First of all you'll need basic toiletries, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a clean pair of socks and a good book. Secondly, find a spot in your bag for your electronic devices, chargers, your medications and maybe a cosy neck pillow as well. Lastly, don't forget to take your passport, travel documents and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Make sure you don't have sharp objects (like a knife or scissors) lurking in one of the compartments of your hand luggage. Other prohibited items include explosive or flammable substances, such as aerosol cans and fuel, and gels and liquids in containers larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The long, narrow aisles of your airplane are not the place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfortable clothing and don't forget to bring a sweater as it can get chilly in the cabin during long-haul flights. Flat, enclosed shoes are also a good idea.
- A serious condition called deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to poor circulation. Walking around the cabin and doing regular foot and leg exercises in your seat helps to prevent this developing. Wearing a quality pair of compression socks or tights can also help.
