Wherever you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you're well organised. We've compiled a list of handy tips and tricks that will get your Naryn escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a great experience if you pack the right gear. First things first, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a spare pair of socks and a few magazines. Next, find a spot in your hand luggage for your mobile phone, a charger, your important medications and maybe a cosy neck pillow too. Lastly, don't forget to bring your passport, travel documents and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Pointed or sharp objects, like your pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as spray paint, flares and matches, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Go for comfort over style. Prepare for temperature changes by wearing layers, and opt for slightly roomy, flat footwear like sneakers.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Wander around the cabin and stretch your legs or do some gentle exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
