Depending on where you're coming from, your flight to Nazca could be a piece of cake or it could drag on forever. We've compiled some handy tips that will help you start your next big adventure on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First things first, put in your passport, important documents, cash and medications. Next, you'll need some entertainment to help pass the time. A juicy novel and a laptop filled with your favourite shows are some terrific options. If you hope to take a quick nap, a neck pillow and a pair of earplugs will also come in handy. Finally, find room for a toothbrush and some deodorant so you'll arrive at your destination feeling fresh as a daisy.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Sharp objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and gasoline, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your goal here is to be as comfortable as you can. Opt for a pair of slip-on shoes, dress in loose, natural fibers and remember to take a pullover in case it gets chilly in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression tights or socks.
