Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you're prepared. We've compiled a list of essential travel tips that will get your Negara escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a cruisy experience if you carry the right things. First of all you'll need basic toiletries, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a clean pair of socks and a good book. Next, leave space in your hand luggage for your electronic devices, chargers, any daily medications and perhaps a neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to bring your passport, travel documents and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of banned items differs between air carriers, the general rule to follow is nothing sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes things like tools, metal cutlery, spray paint and flares. Sports equipment like ski poles, and objects that could injure passengers, such as pepper spray and firearms, can't come on board with you either.
What to wear on a flight:
- Go for comfort over style. Prepare for temperature changes by wearing layers, and wear slightly roomy, flat shoes like slip-ons.
- Most of us have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity. To reduce your risk on board, drink plenty of water, consider wearing compression socks or tights and keep your legs and feet moving.
