We've rounded up all the info you need to make your flight as pain-free as possible. Follow our tips and tricks and you'll be hightailing it through the airport and discovering North Conway in next to no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a cruisy experience if you bring the right stuff. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as lip balm and hand cream, a clean pair of socks and a few magazines. Next, find a spot in your hand luggage for your electronic devices, chargers, any medications and perhaps a quality neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to bring your passport, travel docs and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Sharp objects, like a pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, flares and strong acids, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- The long, narrow aisles of a plane are no fashion runway. Layer up with comfy clothing and take a sweater as it can get chilly inside the cabin. Flat, slightly roomy shoes are also a good choice.
- Unfortunately, a risk of long-haul flights is developing deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity. To prevent this from happening, take every opportunity to wander around the cabin. Compression tights and socks are another easy way to help minimize this risk.
